Value for money

At around €54 the wine sits mid-range among GG prices, while its ratings reach into the top group; to be fair, Wine Advocate considers the 2023 vintage somewhat less refined than usual, but the value for money remains very good.

The estate

For decades this family estate in Monzingen on the Nahe has been one of the leading names for dry Riesling in Germany. Its foundation is two Große Lagen: the Halenberg, of which the family owns more than 60 per cent, and the Frühlingsplätzchen, with red slate, loam and quartzite.
