Value for money

At €59 from the estate it sits at the upper end of this selection, but it is readily available and fairly priced for a GG with this rating and ageing potential; anyone looking for top Rheingau wine often pays more for comparable reviews.

The estate

The Kühn family has been growing vines in the middle Rheingau for more than 230 years; today Peter Bernhard Kühn is in charge of the estate that his father Peter Jakob Kühn made one of the region’s most distinctive names. The estate has been Demeter-certified since 2004; the grapes are picked by hand, fermented spontaneously and aged for a long time in large wooden casks without fining agents.
